
Heartfelt tributes paid to late Shiva Shankar

KATHMANDU, Nov. 15: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba went to the Royal
Nepal Academy today, and offered heartfelt tribute on the bodily remains of
the deceased senior musician and singer Shiva Shankar Manandhar.
The Prime Minister also signed the condolence book placed there. Also paying
tribute to late Manandhar were Deputy Prime Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari,
Minister for Information and Communications Dr. Mohammed Mohsin and other
Ministers. A large number of musicians, artists, lyricists, journalists,
music lovers and academics were present to pay final tribute to late
Manandhar.
The body of late Manandhar was cremated as per Newari traditions at the
Pashupati Aryaghat, today.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Communications Dr Mohamad Mohsin
has expressed deep grief over the untimely demise of senior musician and
singer Shiva Shankar Manandhar. In a message issued today, Minister Dr.
Mohasin has expressed deep-felt condolences to the bereaved family.
The nation will remember forever the incomparable contributions made by
late musician Manandhar in the development of Nepali songs and music, it is
stated in the message.
Dr. Mohasin has also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
